« What's Slappin' In My Trunk »
This week I have been slappin' some new ish from the hood nerd himself, Erk Tha Jerk...
I just got the latest from Erk Tha Jerk, Nerd's Eye View-The Prelude and I haven't been able to hit the pause button once. Nerd's Eye View-The Prelude is the prequel EP to Erk Tha Jerk's full length album Nerd's Eye View, which was released just earlier this month. If you purchased the the deluxe version of Nerd's Eye View then you already have most of the tracks from The Prelude minus the Traxamillion produced track, Flyest In the World which is actually one of the dopest tracks on The Prelude; worth purchasing if you have already picked up the deluxe version of Nerd's Eye View on Itunes. The Prelude kicks off with The Perfect Mistake which features a laid back, down tempo beat that compliments Erk's slower flow. He works his rhymes though, and has crafted a very thought out rhyme scheme that works with his cadence. The Perfect Mistake is the perfect storm with everything coming together to make the short 2 minute song slap hard. Up next is one of my favorite tracks on The Prelude, The Relationship Song featuring Samm. If you have ever had any type of relationship with a shorty then you will instantly feel The Relationship Song. Now there has been a million relationship songs in every type of genre, but I am feeling this one, because Erk can be super honest with it and is not afraid to say that he can be scared. Rarely do you hear rappers say they are scared, and it's some real talk that everyone goes through at some point when dealing with emotions and relationships. Nerd's Eye View-The Prelude rounds out with Say Yeah, Anything, and She Know. These tracks aren't lacking and slap just as hard as anything else on the album, so don't sleep on them. Erk Tha Jerk's Nerds Eye View-The Prelude is perfect if you are on a budget, I think its only 3 dollars on Itunes. It's also a great buy if you haven't really heard much of Erk Tha Jerk's work, because it features some really dope tracks at a affordable price. Keep supporting Erk, so pick up The Prelude from one of the Bay's best. I will be slappin' the full length album all next week so look out for that!
