« What's Slappin' In My Trunk »

This week I have been slappin’ the latest from The Jacka and Andre Nickatina…

My Middle Name Is Crime - Andre Nickatina & The Jacka

All this week I have been riding to the newest ish’ from Andre Nickatina and The Jacka, My Middle Name Is Crime. This album sort of came out of left field for me; I know that The Jacka and Nickatina have always fucked with each other, but a whole album? Yeeee! The Jacka and Nickatina rip this album, their rhymes go together like weed and swishers; they get you lifted! My Middle Name Is Crime kicks off with the title track which is also the lead single My Middle Name Is Crime. My Middle Name is Crime is an official Bay banger, with the knockin’ beat and the mixture of street lyrics and unique flow, My Middle Name Is Crime goes! Also don’t forget to check out the video Nickatina and The Jacka did for the track, its dope. Square Crows is next on the lineup of slappers. Square Crows is what exactly what I wanted from a Nickatina and Jacka album; it features the two rappers trading 8 bars each one getting better then the last. Square Crows is laced by a uniquely Nickatina beat, if you have ever heard any Andre Nickatina tracks before then you know what I am talking about. The two tracks up next are solo Jacka and Nickatina respectfully. The Jacka does his thing on Touch Screen a Sean T produced beat that sounds like it was especially crafted for The Jacka’s flow. Touch Screen has a positive feel to it, which is a nice change from The Jacka’s usual rhymes about death and drugs. Touch Screen is one of my favorite Jacka songs of 2010, and trust me there are more than a handful. Andre Nickatina does his thing on Nicky. Nicky is a Pimp’s anthem; classic Andre Nickatina. Nicky features a simplistic beat that highlights Nickatina’s raps. It actually reminds me a lot of Cocaine a track from Khan!-The Me Generation, which was also released earlier this year. My Middle Name Is Crime wraps up with three more Andre Nickatina and The Jacka tracks: Money Sharks, Going To Court featuring Husalah, and Girls Say. Money Shark and Going To Court are some of my favorite tracks on My Middle Name Is Crime, don’t sleep on these tracks, because you too busy slappin’ the singles you will regret it. It might be overlooked but there is a nice interlude tribute to Mac Dre, We Miss You Furl. We Miss You Furl is only an instrumental, but take this time to roll one up and think back to a day when we all were getting stupid DRE. Nickatina and The Jacka choose to end the album with the song that started it all, Girls Say (Remix) which I believe was first released on Equiptos and Nickatina Horns and Halos. Even though this song is several years old, it still remains one of my favorite Jacka or Nickatina tracks, it’s a Bay classic. If you don’t know what I am talking about when you cop My Middle Name Is Crime skip to the last track and get infused with game. I love it when rappers team up and make super groups and The Jacka is one of the best at doing that with a host of collaboration albums this year, I crown The Jacka the king of the Callabo for 2010. Nickatina has been on his grind all of 2010 and pushes it into 2011 with My Middle Name Is Crime. Even though My Middle Name Is Crime is only 9 tracks deep and technically only an EP it is still well worth the buy. Go out and cop the latest from two of the Bays Finest MCs.
