« What's Slappin' In My Trunk »
This week I have been slappin' the full length from Erk Tha Jerk, Nerd's Eye View.
All this week, and actually for some time I have been riding to Erk Tha Jerk's banger of an album, Nerd's Eye View. Last week I brought you the EP The Prelude, that was the sampler before the big one dropped and people, if you have been waiting you will not be disappointed. Erk is doing his thing and putting The Rich on with one of the best albums of the year, Nerd's Eye View. Nerd's Eye View kicks off the Summer, a track you don't want to sleep on. Summer is an introspective song that really sets up the album. You might want to skip over Summer to get to some of the more popular/hyped songs, but trust me Summer really kicks off Nerd's Eye View. Up next is a banger, Can't Stop Now featuring P-Chile who is blowing up as of late. Can't Stop features a sped up flow from Erk, which I wish he would utilize more; it really shows his range as an MC. But this is what makes Erk tha Jerk so good, hes a very versatile rapper who can change his flow when necessary. You will be rolling down the block to Can't Stop Now; it was instantly one of my favorite tracks on Nerd's Eye View. How Do You Love Me follows with a subject Erk Tha Jerk isn't afraid to touch, love. He speaks on many different types of love; from the love you have for your family, for your kids, and for your lady. On How Do You Love Me Erk raps about the love he has for his partner on one verse and on the next he raps about the love he has for his little girl. Not too many rappers can do that, or are willing to. Tracks like, Can't Let You Go deal with how hard relationships can be, and the issues that we all face when we are in love. Erk also speaks on lust, with his mega hit Right Here. If you haven't heard Right Here where the hell have you been? It's one of the only songs from a Bay artist right now that getting spins on local and non-local radio stations. Your mom probably knows the words to Right Here, it's that dope. On a different tip we get tracks like Favorite Song featuring DB, DS, Vell4Short which is about one of my favorite themes blowin' trees. Favorite Song isn't your average weed song though. Most weed tracks are about how much a rapper can smoke or what he is smokin' on, but Favorite Song is about the good, and the bad that comes a long with being a stoner. That is the real genius of Erk Tha Jerk he is real with out being fake; he goes deeper then most are willing to go, while keeping things relevant. Nerd's Eye View rounds out for me with Reach The Top. Reach The Top is a feel good song that will inspire you to make it to the top, or just to smile. It sounds corny, but Reach The Top is a banger that will bring you back to a time in your life when you were happy. Real talk. We just trying to make it, arn't we all? Nerd's Eye View is full of bangers and Erk Tha Jerk's flow is crazy good. I didn't even mention that Erk is producing 90% of the album. Boy is super talented and there are big things in the future for Erk Tha Jerk. Nerd's Eye View is so much more than what my article can tell ya, so go cop the album for yourself and find out why Erk Tha Jerk is arguably the best in the Bay right now.
