« What's Slappin' In My Trunk »
Let's take it back and see what we have been slappin' in our trunks in 2010....

It all kicked off when Emdub and I met on the fith moon of Jupiter and decided that the people of Bay Area 51 needed to know what the hottest releases were each week. So I blasted off, searched all over the Bay and beyond for the latest hip hop heat and took it there with the first entry of the year, Cognito's Automatic.
Cognito-Automatic: Cognito has been grinding under the radar for years now and gave 2010 an impressive entry. Cognito hooked up with Tech N9ne's strange music label to release an album that full of slappers. Cognito really showed his range on Automatic ripping every single beat with a wealth of different lycial topics. Cognito needs our support in the Bay so if you haven't coped Automatic go and grab it!

Andre Nickatina-Khan! The Me Generation: Andre Nickatina is back! Well he never really left and 2010 was his year. Khan! The Me Generation was and is full of hits, including the smash hit Pimp Hop featuring Paul Wall. Other slappers on the album include Tony Montana and 9 to 5. Get this album and pay your respect to a Bay legend.

Black C-70's Baby: Black C continues to hold down RBL, San Francisco, and the whole entire Bay with his 2010 entry 70's Baby. Black C took a different aproach to 70's Baby sampling 70's music on every beat, giving it a disticvely different feel that what he has done in the past. Black C is one of my favorites so you know 70's Baby stays slappin' in my trunk.

Cousin Fik-No Gravity: Cousin Fik from Sick Wid It records dropped a bomb on us in 2010 with his free debut release, No Gravity. I had never heard of Cousin Fik before so I was pleasantly surprised when I popped in No Gravity and I couldn't stop snappin my head. With support from Turf Talk, E-40, Murs, Yukmouth, and Clyde Carson No Gravity is defiantly one of the freshest debut records of any bay artist in 2010.

Thizzler.com-Under The Bay Season 1 The Mix Tape: Oh you know I would be slappin' this shit from 2010 to infinity. Under The Bay Season 1 The Mixtape is a compilation of tracks from all of the season 1 entries including Z-man, Nima Fadavi, Casual, QM, Roach Gigz, and the list goes on and on! Did i mention the best part, its free! Do me a favor and download Under The Bay The Mixtape: Season 1 not for my sake, or Em Dub's, or even the artists; do it for your ears.

Bun B-Trill O.G.: I took it out of the Bay and down to P.A. for this one, but i felt that this album was so dope that people in the Bay had to know. Bun B gives us his third solo album following the trill theme and you know he always keeps it 120 % trill. Trill O.G. is hands down of my top albums of the year.

Lyrics Born-As U Were: Lyrics Born kicked off the end of the year season with one of the most retro/progressive albums of 2010 As U Were. Lyrics born keeps it oh! so funky fresh yet doesn't loose his hip hop roots. Check out tracks like Live By the Beat, Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda and Block Bots. Lyrics born is pushing things forward for the Bay, so pop in As U Were and get your boogy on.

Erk Tha Jerk-Nerds Eye View: What a debute album from the kid Erkl Tha Jerk! He had one of the biggest songs of the year in the Bay and even nationally with Right Here. Erk goes in on Nerds Eye View with tracks like Favorite Song, and Reach The Top. Nerds Eye View stays in constant rotation in my Ipod, Car Stereo, and any other device I can pop it into.
2010 was a big big year for the Bay and there are just to many fresh albums that were Slappin' In My Trunk this year to go over the all. So check out the back log of What's Slappin' In My Trunk to get the scoop on the latest from Yukmouth, Tech N9ne, Potluck, Mistah F.A.B and so many more.
