« What's Slappin' In My Trunk by HookedOnHipHop »
This week I have two very different artists that I have been listening to...
Dubee, Aka The Sugawolf Pimp with The Furly Ghost Vol. 2 is the first album I've been bumping this week. Released on April 20th, 2010 by Sumo/Thizznation, The Furly Ghost Vol. 2 is the newest release by Dubee of Vallejo's Crest Side. One of the headliners of the Thizz label, Dubee and The Furly Ghost Vol.2 continues the tradition of turf bangers that we all have come to expect from Thizz. The Furly Ghost Vol. 2 has several Dubee only slappers on it including Turff Niggaz-R-Us and Be Yo' Man. Both tracks highlight the lyricism of Dubee and only Dubee. Of course there are several Mac Dre featured tracks and they BANG; Ain't My Dog, Quarter Backin, Holdin Grands, and 84, 94, 04 are all Mac Dre blessed gems. Dubee and Mac Dre go together like sand and the beach it's just a shame that Muhammad I E had to pass so early. Other Thizz Nation members are featured on The Furly Ghost Vol.2 including; Reek Daddy, J-Diggs, B-Luv, and Mistah F.A.B. all kill their tracks while backing up Dubee. The only downside of this album is that several tracks are remixes but, it's really a minor complaint when all the other tracks are legit. Go out grab the newest release from Dubee, one of the originators of the Turf Movement, and you will be infected with the Furly Ghost yourself.

Coming straight out of Honkdale I've been slapping Pardon Our French by Honkies With Auto-Tune or H.W.A. Three white rappers Trillion, The Natural, and Steve make up the group that embraces Auto-Tune, Pizza, and classic video games. I know what you are thinking, Auto-Tune? White guys with berets?Pizza? Well sometimes we all need to step back and have a laugh. By laughing i do not mean that H.W.A. is a joke. Their flows come correct and their production is tight, they just have a good time while they spit. Highlights off Pardon Our French include Extra Crispisized, Pizza, and White Rappers Anthem, these tracks will give you a good feel of what your in for when you play Pardon Our French. My favorites include; On My Berries, a tribute to all shapes and sizes of berries, Welcome to Honkdale is the antitheses of H.W.A.. Peppermintay is the must check out track on Pardon Our French, it's the white hip-hop ode to staying so fresh. H.W.A. defiantly had a good time creating Pardon Our French and it shows, each track has a light feel that is often over looked in rap music. With hard times upon on us it is nice to have a laugh every once in a while. So go check out Pardon Our French and have laugh but, don't take these guys to lightly because they can bless the mic.
