1ST PLACE: ** Gwizski **

Gwizski is a California native currently living in Portland, spends most of his time digging and chopping up records to make loop driven beats,simple and effective regular ass beats! Gwizski has performed with Underground Legends such as Souls of Mischief, Cali Agents, Living Legends, Bored Stiff, ZMan, Myka9, 2Mex, Blu, and many others. Gwizski has two offical releases to date "Loop Regions"(2007) & "Virgo Vibes" (2009).

"My creative process for this remix was chopping up a sample and creating the arrangement on my MPC 2000xl."

PRIZE: An original piece of Z-Man art and the option to lounge in the studio for a day with Z-Man and BOAC while they work on Z-Man's upcoming album "6 Pack of Dynamite".

2ND PLACE: ** DREGS ONE **

Dregs One has been involved in the SF Bay Area since age 16 as a rapper, producer and member of the group Gas Mask Colony. He has independently released three volumes of a compilation series called Sucka Free State Of Mind as well as online mixtapes and collaborations with his group and other artists. Currently he is living in Southern California, performing in the Bay Area and beyond, and working on several new projects.

"When I first heard of the remix contest, the first thought in my head was to come with something that had a different feel from the original beat but was also on some cupcakin' ass shit. The crazy thing is I went through my beats that had a matching tempo to see if I had anything that could possibly fit and the first beat I found was the one I ended up using. Then I tracked it out and put in the necessary breakdowns and it was a wrap."
