Mid West emcee, Freddie “Gangsta” Gibbs’ authenticity as a street dude is bedrock solid. His lyrics break down the logistics of street life, unraveling the coarse threads that stitch together fake hip hop personas along the way. In his recent interviews, Freddie’s cutting opinions have captured the attention of heads who’ve grown bored senseless of the droll politically correct “pop-hop” industry. Gibbs explains, “Everybody aint your homie, but I didn’t apply that same mentality to this record industry.” Which may be why “Fuck the world” has become his National Anthem, literally.
