« Eligh - GreyCrow (Trailer) »

Living Legend's Eligh has a new album coming November 9th! It's gunna be a slumper, I've always been hella jealous of his flow...Hit the jump for more details on the album and Eligh's last five years.

The GreyCrow is landing. On November 9, 2010; Eligh, the prolific beatsmith and emcee from the Living Legends crew will drop “GreyCrow”, his first solo album since 2003’s Poltergeist. GreyCrow is an attestation of Eligh’s will to live, love and learn.

Five years ago, Eligh was wandering the streets of downtown Los Angeles searching for his next fix. After abusing drugs recreationally, he eventually dove deeper into a deadly addiction to heroin, threatening not only his life, but also his love for music. Turning down tours and worried for his own health and well being, he admitted himself into rehabilitation. With five years of clean living, Eligh hopes that his story of hope can help others through their troubles, whether it is a drug addiction, loss of a family member or losing yourself.

Eligh, who refers to himself as, “The Crow” states that this album is a representation of his growth and acquisition of wisdom from the struggles he endured within the past seven years. Those same struggles also morphed him into a more mature, GreyCrow. Eligh splashes the album with bright rays of hope, which are coalesced with dark drops into a rumbling low end, which grant the album a perfect mixture of dark and light elements. Eligh handles the production on fifteen of the seventeen-tracks on the album; longtime Living Legends affiliate, Elusive and UK dubstep producer, Starkey on two tracks, provide other production. Eligh also extends his wings and brings notable guest features from Brother Ali, The Grouch, Aesop Rock, Luckyiam, Zumbi of Zion I, Scarub, Marty James, Pigeon John and many more.

The GreyCrow lands November 9, 2010.
