« What's Slappin' In My Trunk  »

This week I'm taking it back to the early 90's boy!

All this week I have been slappin' H.W.A. and there 1990 release Livin' In A Hoe House. Now this is not the same H.W.A. I was slappin' a few weeks ago, there are no white boys with Auto-tune in this group, it is actually quite the opposite. H.W.A. stands for Hoes With Attitude and includes the members Jazz, Diva, and Baby Girl. H.W.A. was actually signed to Eazy E's Ruthless Records in the early 90's, but after several failures the group disbanded. Just imagine an all female cross between Too $hort, Queen Latifa, and Eazy E and you have H.W.A. With their cheesy name, extra explicit lyrics, and just ridiculous album I sort of wrote the group off as a gimmick , but after a few listens I really started to jam out to Livin' In A Hoe House. Now the production value is defiantly early 90's and the rhymes schemes are nothing mind blowing but, their something about powerful lady M.C.'s that makes H.W.A. raw. Now Livin' In A Hoe House kicks off with To Live Or Die, which is the most deep and non sexual of any song off the album. To Live Or Die is a look into street choices and the consequences that might result from a bad choice. My favorite rhyme from To Live Or Die has to be, "I coped a plea, I had to murder her she was a wack M.C." If you can't feel that, there is something seriously wrong with you. Moving past To Live Or Die, we have Funk Me, which is the lead single off Livin' In A Hoe House. Funk Me is a party anthem to is sure to get things crackin'. Funk Me has 1990 written all over it, but thats not a bad thing; this track will take you back. Check out the video for Funk Me that I have included at the bottom (you got to love the little kids and white guys keeping up on the dance floor). One track that I can't stop listening to is 1-900-Bitches. 1-900-Bitches is everything that is sounds like, Raunchy as hell with the theme of those old school sex telephone lines. Peep the way they stretch out "Bitches" defiantly stolen from Too $hort, but I don't care it's still cool. Baby Girl (the main M.C.) calls out everyone from President Bush (Sr!), Noriega, and even Nelson Mandela on how they can't resist the bitches. Classic. Other slappers on Livin' In A Hoe House include the title track Livin' In A Hoe House, Eat This, and Little Dick. If you're a guy, just make sure you're not slappin' Little Dick in the trunk to hard on the block! H.W.A. was ahead of their time with Livin' In A Hoe House, I actually can't believe that they were not stopped by the government for their overtly sexual lyrics. If you want to smile, laugh, and dance, go out and cop Livin' In A Hoe House, it will make for an interesting piece to any Hip Hop collection.

I want to take a second and give a big big big shout out to my NEW Niece Charlotte and the proud parents Melissa and Aaron! 8lbs, 21 inches, and all 10 toes and fingers: A PERFECT 10! Welcome to the world big baby!
