This week the plane is going down!...

FREE DOWNLOAD: Plane Jane - Crash Landing

This week I'm slappin' CrashLanding which is the latest from the reigning Queen of the New Bay, Plane Jane. Coming out of Richmond California, Plane Jane has been on the scene for a minute now killing guest appearances on various records and blowing up stage shows  from San Francisco to Walnut Creek. Although Plane Jane has been rocking mics for a while now CrashLanding is her major solo debut. For those of you haven't had your ear to the streets Plane Jane brings a unique lyrical style to the New Bay movement. Jane can flip words with the best of them; even though most of her tracks have that up beat New Bay party feel that often lacks lyrical content her rhymes will have even the hardest of the hard core backpackers bobbin' their heads.  It's extremely refreshing to see a female who can actually rock the mic then just fit into the mold that the media wants female rap artists to fit into. CrashLanding is the perfect introduction for Plane Jane, the album covers a range of topics and styles on its 19 tracks. CrashLanding cracks off with Boarding Intro which features Plane Jane giving us the typical instructions you would get when your boarding a plane. The cool thing about the Boarding Intro is that it starts off so mellow and normal then fades into an actual crash landing that turns into the next track of the same name, CrashLanding. I love the theatrics of the intro that turns into the opening track. CrashLanding is the dope track that will get you familiar with the rawness that Plane Jane brings to her tracks. Clocking in at little over 2 minutes, CrashLanding is non stop gas, Jane fits more lyrically into this short amount of time then I have heard on other cats full 12 track projects. Straight Gas! Plane Jane gives us tracks that are just straight verbal fire, but also blesses us with bangers such as Aye Doe featuring Show Banga and So High featuring ST Spittin both tracks are ready for air play, but doesn't bail on the Plane Jane formula of high lyrical content. Another such banger is Like Me featuring and produced by IAMSU!. Like Me gives us the prospective of never finding a lover/friend/fuck buddy (whatever you want to call it) from both the male and female side. Now this is where the genius of CrashLanding and Plane Jane comes in. Jane gives it so honest and real with a hot flow that she had me rapping along with her verses even though she was giving it from the female perspective. Other slappers that im really feeling on CrashLanding include Just Dance featuring Kiid Phresh, the laid back I Got My Reasons and Suppa Duppa Fly. Plane Jane gives 100% on CrashLanding and it shows, as she puts herself in the forefront of not just women rappers, but all #NewBay cats. She is breaking down barriers of what a female MC has to be in the Bay Area. Neither a sidekick or a funny media version of what's "hot", Plane Jane is uniquely herself on CrashLanding all while staying true to the roots of true Hip Hop. So make sure to cop the new FREE album from Plane Jane, CrashLanding and get up on one of the doppest MC on the mic hitting the Bay Area and beyond.
