« What's Slappin' In My Trunk »
This week the Sneakacydal returns...
This week I have been slappin' the latest from DJ Fresh and Keak Da Sneak , The Tonight Show: Sneakacydal Returns. DJ Fresh continues his Tonight Show series with the return of Keak Da Sneak, and what a return it is. Now Keak never really left, his Mobb Boss album dropped last year and it was pretty dope to say the least, but with the backing of DJ Fresh, Keak is poised to take over the scene once again. Dj Fresh has to be the hardest working man in the Bay, I swear he has a project dropping every other week and the quality isn't lacking, everything he touches SLAPS! The combination of Keak's sonic styling and DJ Fresh's tight production makes The Tonight Show: Sneakacydal Returns one slapper of an album. Sneakacydal Returns kicks off with Maxi Pad which really sets the tone for DJ Fresh on the album. The beat for Maxi Pad has this 1980's Zapp! feel to it, now if you aren't down with that sound I really can't understand why you are reading this. Cop Heavy follows with a trunk rattling track that you can slap in front of your mammas house. By Cop Heavy we start to determine Keak's style on Sneaklacydal Returns. If you have listened to Keak before you know his sonic "gruff" voice can sometimes be hard to understand, but on Sneakacydal Returns and especially on Cop Heavy he comes with a clearer, more melodic style. Oakland featuring Jinx is next up on Sneakacydal Returns. Now I think if you take every rap song about Oakland you would have a never ending playlist, rappers from Oakland just have that much love. Oakland by Keak is different though, its more down tempo then most Oakland tribute songs. It's really smoothed out, play Oakland featuring Jinx when you are BBQ at the lake, you know what I'm talking about. Keak and DJ Fresh are some real playas, because there are plenty of tracks dedicated to the nasty of Sneakacydal Returns including Face Down Ass Up, Stuck Wit Chu featuring Thug Angel, but my favorite has to be Messages From The Stars. DJ Fresh is a fool for using this sample, it's off the hook! Keak is on some space age pimp shit, with Messages From The Stars, he simply kills it, download this track if you are still not sure on purchasing the album. Other bangers on Sneakacydal Returns include Urban Tactics (featuring half the Bay Area), All Sales, and Slappa Rappa. Sneakacydal Returns is a real clapper, banger, slapper whatever you want to call it. The album does three things: marks the return of Keak Da Sneak, solidifies DJ Fresh as the hardest working man in the Bay, and makes you break your neck. Stop what you are doing and go out and cop The Tonight Show: Sneakacydal Returns by Keak Da Sneak and DJ Fresh. It's 10 dollars well spent. Trust.
