This week I've been riding to the latest mixtape from your boi, ST Spittin...2nd Impression. If you didn't know, ST Spittin has been doing his thing as of late dropping several mixtapes in the last year, as well as hustling with the live performances. ST Spittin blesses us with a gang of slappers on 2nd Impression and doesn't disappoint, with features from Mistah F.A.B., K00l J0hn, IAMSU!, GQ, PLANEJANE and many more. If you haven't heard from ST Spittin before then your in for a real surprise; homie has flow and works his rhymes in a truly unique way. Unique is what the Bay is all about and ST Spittin is doing his New Bay thing all over 2nd Impression. The mixtape opens with Blue Flame (intro) which gives us an quick glance of what to expect from ST. Blue Flame quickly leads into the underground New Bay hit See The Boy. You might have heard See The Boy on KMEL or at various clubs, but wherever you heard it at first it still slaps spin after spin. I particularly like the line, " N**** grind and go to school too", which is actually pretty heavy; I don't hear many artists talking about educating themselves while still pursing their passions. Big up to everyone in school, but don't let the system brain wash your ass. Well I digress, the next track up is Fantasy featuring IAMSU! & Alley. Fantasy is that banger that you can ride to with your girl, you know that love making song. Look out for HBK gang! Ice City is hooking up for the next track In The Spotlight featuring Mistah F.A.B. & Kyrstle Azul. In The Spotlight is a slapper that you can slide through the ave too. You can really tell that ST wants to bring it on this track, and he does, proably the best flow he has on the mixtape. Following In The Spotlight is one of my favorite tracks Top Shelf Markie Bo-Go. Top Shelf is that drinking slapper that will get you hyped for that friday night party. Another slapper and one of my personal favorites on 2nd Impression has to be Slow Lane featuring Kiid Phresh. ST Spittin really shows off his story telling capabilities on Slow Lane, and he really showed me that he is serious about this rap thing. Make sure you check that one out. 2nd Impression is full of other clappers including Chillin' featuring K00l J0hn and Skipper, Clockwork, Later Tonight, as well as a ton of others. 2nd Impression is 19 tracks deep. I love it when artist put in work and give the people a full mixtape or album. Even if you don't notice it at first ST Spittin has a really unique approach to rapping that makes him shine. This man is also is also on his hustle, he has been doing shows all over the Bay every night of the week. Make sure to check him out.
