« What's Slappin' In My Trunk 4/20 Edition »

This week I'm riding to my all time favorite Bay Area anthems about weed...

420

We love our weed in Northern Cali and for good reason, we got some of the best stuff going. I mean have you seen the bud they got now at the store? Now, it's no secret that rapper types love their trees, and since I love to listen to their music while I'm puffin' I thought it would be only right to break down some of my all time favorite weed tracks from Bay Area artists, for 4/20.

Lets kick things off with the King of Vallejo, Mac Dre and his song I Need An Eigth featuring Da Louie Crew. I Need An Eigth from the album Stupid Doo Doo Dumb, is an ode to the standard sack and 8th! Some of my favorite all time lines are in this song, "3.5 no more no less, in a backwood it will bust your chest!" and "I don't want Bobby Brown, I need Al Green". Classic.

Next, I'm taking it back a few years with Total Devastation, Many Clouds Of Smoke from the album Total Devastation. Total Devastation hailing from San Francisco, had one of the biggest Bay Area stoner hits of all time with Many Clouds Of Smoke; it can still be heard on KMEL every once in a while. One of the most slept on groups from the Bay Area ever.

The legendary RBL Posse started it all with Don't Give Me No Bammer Weed, a Bay Area and more importantly San Francisco anthem. Mr. Cee and Black C break down why the entire cirty of San Francisco doesn't smoke bammer weed. If you ever see Brenda just know that smoking bammer is an everyday agenda...

E-40 has been in the game many moons, and has done many tracks a bout shrek, but one of my all time favorites is The Weedman featuring Stressmatic. The Weedman dropped about a year ago and ever since then I have heard young and old yell out, "Hey Momma, I know the Weedman!". E-40 breaks down all aspects of trees on this winter fresh jam.

Potluck is the ultimate pot smoking Hip Hop group so it was hard to pick a single weed track that I really enjoy from Potluck. It was a tough choice but, I choose Stoner Bitch featuring Kottonmouth Kings, from the album Pipe Dreams. Knock this track in the car, its got massive base.

What would a Bay Area Hip Hop weed list be with out The Luniz's platnium hit I Got Five On It Remix featuring Dru Down, Richie Rich, Mike Marshall, Spice 1, E-40, and Shock G. I Got Five On It should be in the weed smoking hall of fame, but realy this is a classic not just for pot heads, but for Hip Hop heads alike.

Well I hope you enjoyed the weed songs that are Slappin' In My Trunk this week. Sorry if your favorite track got left out, but there are just way to many choices. These were just some of my favorites, hope you enjoyed.  Have a safe and happy 4/20, and if you see me out there make sure to roll one with your boi!
