Mike-Dash-E - Dash With Me

This week I have been slappin' the latest from Mike-Dash-E, Dash With Me. Mike-Dash-E has been on his hustle as of late quarterbackin' for SMG 3rd World Hustle, working with DJ Amen to release the Clap City 2 mixtape, holding down the streets at SXSW, and now he continues the grind by giving us his debut album Dash With Me. Mike-Dash-E brings a host of his New Bay friends along as well, including Jay Ant, IAMSU!, Damey, Moe Green, as well as some better known names such as Erk Tha Jerk, Matt Blaque, and Balance. Funny how Balance used to be claiming New Bay now he's the "veteran", but I digress lets get into Dash With Me. Mike kicks off Dash With Me with his Intro. The Intro starts off slowly with a smooth as silk guitar riff, the Mike-Dash-E comes in and invites us along on his journey. The Intro quickly fades into Dash With Me featuring Viveca Hawkins. Dash With Me is that opening track that is the statement stylistically as well as content wise. Dash With Me is one of my favorite tracks, because it blends clever lyrical content with Mike's passion for the hustle;it that makes the listener believe in Mike-Dash-E's dream. Dash With Me is full of inspirational songs one of my favorites is Thrill. Produced by 6 Fingers Thrill is one of Mike-Dash-E's biggest hits. It's a hit because of tight production from 6 fingers and lyrical content like this from Mike "I'm like the thrilla In Manila, little bit of Primo, a little bit of Dilla". Thrill is one of dopest tracks that I have heard come out of any new bay artist, if you don't believe me check out the video I posted along with this review. Mike-Dash-E has some dope lyrical content that will make you think, but he aslo has club bangers and trunk rattlers. Fylest featuring IAMSU! and Jay Ant is one of those bangers that will have you snappin'. IAMSU! and Jay Ant straight kill their verses on Flyest leaving the beat black and blue. Don't skip over Flyest like I did at first you will be missing out. Another club banger is Shawty Like Ohh featuring Sir Verse. Shawty Like Ohh isn't my favorite track on Dash With Me but, it is defiantly the track with the most mass appeal. I respect that Mike-Dash-E can still make a record like Shawty Like Ohh but, still stay true to his lyrical background which is exhibited on previous tracks. It's too easy to get a slappin' beat and just say some corny shit over it, Mike-Dash-E doesn't take the easy route. Other dope tracks I'm really feelin' on Dash With Me include Ripped, Bartender featuring Laroo THH, Balance & Darius, and Get Up On It featuring Matt Blaque. Dash With Me is one of the most impressive entries from the up and coming class of new Bay Area artists. Mike-Dash-E blends smart lyrical ability with mass appeal slap that can fade the line between average listener and Hip Hop heads. Mike-Dash-E takes Dash With Me in many many directions, its easy to hear one track and pass the album as this or that, but take your time with Dash With Me and soon you too will be throwin' up three fingers.
