MIXTAPE DOWNLOAD: Nio Tha Gift - Rebel With A Cause

This week I've been slapping the new mixtape from Richmond's own Nio Tha Gift, Rebel With A Cause. If you are unfamiliar with Nio That Gift, then you must not have your ears to the street, but hey that's whats I'm I here for! Nio That Gift can flip words and paint a deep picture with his rhymes while keeping his music true to himself and the streets. I know the Bay has alwys have had street cats that keep it super lyrical, but it's always nice to have one more! Now I got to hand it to Nio That Gift, because he delivers a FREE album that is dope that is basically him rapping every bar; the album only features Mistah F.A.B. on  Father Forgive Me and Hongry on Vicotry. These tracks are actually two of the dopest tracks on  Rebel With A Cause, but I am a firm believer that an MC needs to make impression by themselves before they put 3 different rappers on every track of their album. Nio Tha Gift does feature a host of different producers on Rebel With A Cause including Beat Celebs, Dex Beats, Abyss, Nokwell, and David Fernandez as well several others. Each producer brings their own flavor to Rebel With A Cause, but the production on each song seems to flow with each other like it was made by one production team. That is not a knock on each producer, I want to make it a complement to each producer crafting something that they know would go good with Nio's raps and message. One of my favorite tracks on Rebel With A Cause is Street Dreamin' produced by Will Bracy. The track features a banging drum kick and low clap that will have your neck snapping. Nio kills his verses on Street Dreamin' dropping knowledge like, "You can't build without a blueprint, or make a mil taking everyone's 2 cents" and "I know we are ghetto and the times are hard. We will never be perfect but, we try so hard." Those are some of the realest words I have heard come from a Bay rap cat in a long, long time. Nio Tha Gift is speaking truth, people need to listen! Rebel With A Cause the title track off the mixtape is other joint that I'm really feelin'. Nio That Gift first verse on Rebel With A Cause is so dope I had to rewind it about four times. I can't even sit here and try to explain it to you it's something that words on a computer can't explain, it's really Hip Hop that has to be heard and felt. So make sure you peep that track. Other bangers on Rebel With A Cause include Hands Up or Sit Down, 25-8, and One Life to Live. Nio Tha Gift really out did himself with Rebel With A Cause, he blew away his previous work Hero with this one. The whole album is full of slaps, that will keep your finger on the rewind button.
