This week I got a problem...

P Child - Metaphorically Speaking

FREE DOWNLOAD: P Child - Metaphorically Speaking

This week I'm slappin' the latest from 2010 Bay Area Freshmen 10 P. Child, Metaphorically Speaking. We at the Thizzler are actually presenting this album, but I'm not just making Metaphorically Speaking my editors choice because it's a Thizzler presents EP...this album really does slap! P. Child gives us 9 tracks on Metaphorically Speaking that are produced by the likes of Rob-E, The Legion, Loaded, and a host of others; each beat is polished and well suited for P. Child's style. It seems to me that P.Child took his time picking the right beats and working his craft on Metaphorically Speaking. P. Child blends his style of singing and rapping masterfully on the EP; he knows when to sing and when to rap and doesn't mix the two when it is not necessary. What I was really fealin' on Metaphorically Speaking is P. Child's choice of topics to rap about. Now there are the sex tracks like To The Tempo (which is actually one of my favorite songs) and the grind record like Hustle On, but P.Child goes deeper. Alone Time is a track that bucks the norm of Bay Area Hip Hop and speaks on the subject of self reflection and family. I'm really feelin' Alone Time, because it is extremely relatable. I can't relate to chains, and nice whips, but what I can feel is a song about being taking care of myself and realizing that my family is the most important thing. I really enjoy rap music that speaks to everyone, not just rappers, and that's what Alone Time is. Now what would be a Bay rap project be without a dope club banger? Franky featuring Cousin Fik and Roger is exactly it, a banger that will have the heads snappin' and the booties clappin'. I'm really feelin' Cousin Fik's verse and Roger's hook. A Roger Troutman tribute singer? I think so! All and all I think Metaphorically Speaking is a great intro for P. Child. If you aren't familiar with P. Child's music or even if you are Metaphorically Speaking is a great set up for P. Child's upcoming debut album. Shit, Metaphorically Speaking is good enough to be a debut album. So bump some new P. Child and make sure you get your free copy of Metaphorically Speaking right here at The THIZZLER!
