Clap City 3 - Clap Season
Now I know what you're thinking: no, I don't have the "clap" that one gets from a bopper, but the clappers found on Clap City 3: Clap Season. Symphony Music Group along with DJ Amen, DJ B-EZ, and Thizzler teamed up to bring the hottest #NewBay artist together for an all-star compilation highlighting the hardest hitting raps of the newest generation of Bay Area Rappers. Before I get any further into Clap Season please go out and cop Clap City 1 & 2 both can be found free at www.mikedashe.com; both compilations go and they are a good warm up for Clap Season. Clap City 3: Clap Season features a wide variety of #NewBay rappers such as Iamsu!, K00l J0hn, Loverance, Jay Ant, Skipper, Young Bari, and Armani DePaul, but the ring leader of the tape has to be Mike-Dash-E. Clap City has been the brain child of Clap City from the start and he blesses 3 tracks on Clap Season all of which he shines on. Clap City Bitch featuring Iamsu!, P-Lo, Jay Ant and Mike-Dash-E is one such track. With a finger snapping beat produced by the Invasion Clap City Bitch! might not be a radio single like some of the other songs on the compilation, but it is surely one of the hardest and definitely worthy of slappin' in your trunk. Now, it's just not the new cats in the game on Clap Season 3, OGs like E-40 and Clyde Carson bless the mic on This Clap (Young Bari) and 3 Peat (Starting Six), respectively. Both are hard hitting tracks that you would expect from these two. It's great to see these vets in the game work with the new generation. The Clap City series have always been known to break radio friendly hits such as Loverance's smash "Up" and Clap City 3: Clap Season is no exception with hits like Settle For Less by Rayven Justice, Bang Bang by J-Has featuring Iamsu!, Skipper and Flyest by Mike-Dash-E, Iamsu! and Jay Ant. Any of these tracks could be in regular rotation on KMEL and beyond. Like most of the #NewBay music, Clap Season 3: Clap Season has a real fun party feel to it and one of the groups throwing the party is C.F.O.P.A (Click Full Of Party Animals). Their tracks Ass and Swaggin 2011 that hit with fun catchy raps and heavy bass get the party crackin'. What I find really refreshing about Clap City 3: Clap Season is that I can hear the progression from this tight knit group of emerging Bay Area artists. It's exciting to see them on the brink of making a big wave, and I really hope they do. Hard work deserves credit. So give credit where credit is due and download Clap City 3: Clap Season for free right now!
