And when HNRL Heavy hitter Spank Pops and beatsmith Doctor J decided to drop their Beautiful Noise EP last year, they gave us just that. The marriage of Spank Pops’ sharp wordplay and Doctor J’s classic, sample-driven aesthetic have proven to be a winning pair.

But when the Doctor’s away, producers will play. Beats that is. And the result is the Beautiful Remixes EP.

Among those producers is fellow Honor Roller 1-O.A.K., whose remix of “New Day” made waves throughout the blogs earlier this year. Also, Trackademicks, 2010 Guardian’s “Best of the Bay” winnerKeelay, Dave the Dopeman, Optik, and Conceit have been enlisted for production duties.

Beautiful Noise EP is available now on Bandcamp. Spank Pops full-length release is slated to drop later this year.
