Straight up, The Bay is too violent. Despite being one of the most beautiful and forward thinking places on earth, every day I’m reading about someone getting murdered in Oakland, San Francisco, Richmond, San Jose, or Vallejo. The street shit is bad enough, but the mass murder up by San Francisco city college? That missing girl probably getting kidnapped from Morgan Hill? Bodies being found under the Bay Bridge? People getting stabbed at Occupy protests? It’s been a terrible week for a lot of Bay Area families, and my heart goes out to them. 

But back to the Bay Area being beautiful, this was another great week for our hip-hop scene. Hit the jump to peep some music that’ll continue to make you proud of where you’re from.
