Poem You Shouldn't Steal
Monday, February 22, 2010 at 12:57 AM The water hit him like an anvil dropped from a skyscraper. He couldn’t breathe. His lungs screamed at him to inhale but he knew he had to wait it out. Soon they’d pull him out. Soon. Soon. Black and yellow spots floated in front of the bottom of the basin. His mind felt like it had been injected with Novocain. The edges of the tub started to disappear in a fog of black. Soon. Soon. A crack spread across the floor of the tub, growing and growing until it almost filled his vision. He was going to fall into it if it kept spreading like that. He hoped he didn’t fall into it.
