Thizzler: Where are you from? How was your upbringing?

#iamdageneral: Fresno, CA 559 93706. My upbringing was kinda rough, being raised by a single mother with three kids made me realize my self-made man ambition.

T: How did you begin making music?

#iamdageneral: I always been a music person, love listening to it. Then one day, 7th grade, I came home with a hook and my big brother RC and big brother Rob Bandz wrote to it. Ever since then I love writing but didn’t take it serious until 18yrs old my cousin told me you got a God gifted talent. I just been going hard ever since.

T: How did you get your rap name?

#iamdageneral: I got my rap name from a OG named Mike who told me “you move like a young general” so I took general and ran with it.

T: How would describe your musical style?

#iamdageneral: Inspirational

T: Tell me about “Overcame(longlivedunn)”.

#iamdageneral: I lost my mother at 12yrs old. Lost both grandparents. Got a sick father. Lost my right hand man, a person that told me “go hard dunn dunn deal”. With all this going on in life I never took my eyes off the prize, that tunnel vision I used to always get off track and unfocused when pain came May 18, 2020 it was a real test to keep my tunnel vision and show the man upstairs no matter what ima keep fighting. My father had four seizures, I prayed so hard to the man upstairs to not take my father, he kept him alive ten mins after discharge. I lost my Auntie, my Godmom – I looked myself in the mirror and told myself “you overcame too much, you been thru it all, don’t fold, bend, or break – pray”.

T: What inspired the single?

#iamdageneral: My pain and my strength.

T: How is it different than previous works?

#iamdageneral: This song I really took my time with it and did more than one try when I was recording, I did everything from the gut.

T: What message do you want fans to walk away with after listening?

#iamdageneral: No matter what the situation is stay strong keep fighting for that tunnel vision. Hardest battles for the strongest soldiers.

T: What’s next?

#iamdageneral: My album called Tunnel Vision and got another single coming out with Southside Su called “Thru The Rain”.

T: Is there anything else you want to say?
