BPos - Pos Tapes Vol. 1 (Mixtape)

<a href="http://bpos.bandcamp.com/album/pos-tapes-vol-1">Volume 1 Ft. Mantis One by BPos</a>

I'll let BPos do the talking:

Pos Tapes Vol.1 is the first of a trilogy of Pos Tapes. Each Pos Tape will feature beats from one specific producer. Vol.1 Features beats from Big Shawn (PimpTapsMovement) of Bored Stiff. Big Shawn's beats mixed with BPos production makes for a brand new sound that you will only find here.

Our initial goal was to put out a free album really quick. We weren't trying to make the dopest cd in the world. Just trying to give people a free little taste. What we wound up doing is making the best album any of us have made yet. And it's free.

I think this is my favorite promo video I've done yet. Maybe it's the pre-birthday drinks talking though. Leave a comment or click the LIKE button and let me know what you think.

San Francisco independent hip-hop/rap group BPos roam the streets of SF, drinking drank, doing shows, wheatpasting posters, and getting into all kinds of ill shit. Don't miss their free mixtape, Pos Tapes Vol. 1, dropping tomorrow!

Mistah F.A.B. on getting Oakland past "Fuck The World"

Mistah Fab, self-proclaimed "Freestyle King" and "Prince of the O,"  is a leader of Oakland's Hyphy Movement and former artist for Bay Area rap Legend Mac Dre's record label Thizz Entertainment.

Today, Stanley P. Cox, aka Mistah Fab, has matured as a rapper and writer since his days in the Hyphy Movement. He has emerged as a leader within the Oakland community who understands the challenges "his people" face daily.

During the years of the Hyphy Movement, Mistah Fab indirectly or directly rapped for a unified Oakland. One example is his song "N.E.W. (North, East and West) Oakland," in which he discusses how people don't want problems with him because of his connection with all parts of Oakland.

Mistah Fab is best known for songs like "Supa Sicc Wit It," "Kicked out the Club" and "Ghost Ride It." He also won widespread attention from his verse on West Coast Original Rap Gangsta Snoop Dogg's  "Life of the Party" along with Bay Area rap legend Too Short.

Some people like Mistah Fab's music - many others hate it because of his involvement with the Hyphy Movement. Whatever you may think of his music, you can't deny the love he has for his community - Oakland, California.

BPos - Give Us Props (Exclusive)

Yes yes ya'll! BPos' killer mixtape Pos Tapes Vol. 1 is dropping TOMORROW (coincidentally, on my birthday) and here is another Thizzler exclusive slap from the tape.

"We don't need you to approve, we prove with true talent, emcees try to do what we do and lose balance" - Goodword

Over dope production by Bored Stiff's Big Shawn and crazy cuts by BPos' DJ Johnny Venetti, Goodword and D-Wiz rhyme effortlessly (endlessly?) about not getting their proper props, and about halfway through, Sound Earth seamlessly slips in with a dope little snippet from their upcoming debut album.

Under The Bay Episode 36: Opio (Part 1)

"Yo, numbnuts Op is RAW"! A member of the legendary crew Souls of Mischief (yep, those dudes that did '93 Til Infinity, among other underground classics) and Hieroglyphics, Opio is a Cali hip-hop OG. On 4/20, he dropped his latest project, Mark It Zero, for free online, featuring production from Unjust of Chosen Few, and last December, he and Souls Of Mischief dropped their long awaited album Montezuma's Revenge, featuring production from another hip-hop legend, Prince Paul. Em Dub got a chance to catch up with Opio over at Hiero Studios and talked about the story behind 93 Til Infinity, the meaning of his name, why Souls of Mischief decided to remain independent after being dropped by Jive, how Souls of Mischief and Hieroglyphics came together, and that's just part 1.

In part 2 Opio talks about his Big Lebowski inspired album with Unjust, Mark It Zero, and Souls Of Mischief' new album, Montezuma's Revenge. And don't sleep, because there's gunna be some dope bonus footage too!
